Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this site, whatever device or assistive technology they use.
Our aim
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. In practice that means you should be able to:
- zoom up to 400% without text spilling off the screen
- move around the whole site using a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline
- use the site with a screen reader, with a "skip to content" link on every page
- turn off movement: if your device is set to reduce motion, the site replaces animations with simple fades and stops all looping motion
How we check
We test pages with automated checks and by hand with a keyboard and screen readers when we make changes. We haven't yet had an independent accessibility audit.
Known issues
We're not aware of any parts of this site that fail WCAG 2.2 AA. Our downloadable media pack PDFs may not be fully accessible; every fact in them is also on our media pack page.
