Our editorial code

These ten principles apply to everything published by Savvy Digital Group and its brands. They keep what we publish independent from how we make money.

  1. Shoppers come first

Everything we publish is there to help people spend less. Where the interests of shoppers and partners differ, shoppers win.

  2. Results are never for sale

No one can pay to change Pennypea's price results, the order supermarkets appear in, or the votes on Cracking Deals.

  3. Editorial decisions stand on their own

What we publish and how it ranks is decided on its merits for shoppers. Commercial deals never decide it, and no partner can instruct us on it.

  4. Adverts are always labelled

Anything a partner has paid for, including featured deals, sponsored suggestions and sponsored content, is labelled as an advert next to the content itself.

  5. We say when we may earn

We make it clear when a link can earn us commission, and we include good deals whether or not they earn us anything.

  6. We check before we publish

Prices, codes and offers are checked before they are featured. We mark deals that have expired or changed.

  7. We correct mistakes quickly

When we get something wrong we fix it, and for anything significant we say what changed.

  8. Partners are treated the same

Retailers and brands we work with are judged by the same standards as everyone else, including in our press comment and research.

  9. Community content is genuine

We don't write, buy or incentivise fake posts, votes or reviews, and we remove content that breaks our community rules.

  10. Data is handled with care

We use anonymous, combined data for research, press and insight reports for retailers and brands. Reports only include totals from groups large enough that no one can be identified. We never sell personal data.

Community content and reviews

Cracking Deals publishes deals, votes and comments from its members. To keep them genuine we:

  • don't allow posts, votes or comments that are paid for or rewarded without being clearly disclosed
  • don't allow retailers or brands to post about their own offers without saying who they are
  • don't remove or hide honest negative comments because they're negative
  • moderate posts and act on reports from members to stop fake accounts and coordinated voting

Report a post you think is fake or misleading by emailing hello@savvydigitalgroup.co.uk.
